CINCINNATI-BASED SEABIRD TO RELEASE DEBUT JUNE 24

New Credential Recordings Band Creating Early Buzz

Signs Worldwide Booking Agreement with APA Talent & Literary Agency

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) May 12, 2008— Cincinnati-based piano-rock outfit Seabird will release its Credential Recordings debut, Til We See the Shore, on June 24. Already generating an early buzz among critics, the project contains songs of real life struggles, relationships, losses, bittersweet goodbyes and the courage to share love.

“We want to invite the listener to share the emotions, victories and defeats we all experience as normal, everyday people,” says frontman Aaron Morgan. “There is a redemptive quality present in this record, even in the darker moments. We hope it will be an oasis for those who were left thirsty by years of heartache.”

Seabird’s primary aim is to connect with its audience, “to be approachable and to write songs that people can rely on,” says frontman Morgan. “We want the listener to remember that there is always something worth fighting for and someone around to help keep our heads above water.”

Comprising Aaron Morgan (vocals/keys), Chris Kubik (bass), Aaron Hunt (drums) and Ryan Morgan (guitar), Seabird and Til We See the Shore is already connecting with listeners. The band’s hometown CityBeat writes, “Strewn with British influences, Seabird’s music holds the echoes of Coldplay and Radiohead, but there’s an American structural dynamic that runs throughout it as well. And Seabird’s sounds do call out for attention.”

Similarly, Chattanooga’s The Pulse comments “Their melodies have a solid background in Britpop, and sound a bit like a mixture of Travis and the Doves, with vocals reminiscent of the Weakerthans. The piano acts as a strong base for several of their songs and gives the lyrics an opportunity to resonate with the listener.”

Seabird also recently signed an exclusive booking agreement with APA Talent Agency. With major offices in Beverly Hills, New York, and Nashville, APA is one of the largest full service talent/literary agencies in the U.S., representing top artists in all genres of music, as well as theater, movie, and literary clients. JR Montes, the band’s APA agent, comments, “APA is proud to represent Seabird. The band’s  solid work ethic, soulful lyrics and dynamic live show make them a perfect fit for our roster. We look forward to long, rewarding relationship with the band.”

The album’s first single “Rescue” is currently available digitally through iTunes and all other digital music outlets. A music video for the song will be serviced to all major video outlets in June. For more information on the band, visit: www.seabirdmusic.com or www.myspace.com/seabird.

SEVENTH DAY SLUMBER RECORDS SPANISH COLLECTION OF GREATEST HITS

“RESCATAME” RELEASES MAY 27TH ON BEC RECORDINGS

BAND WILL HOST LIVE UPDATE MAY 19TH

VIA THEIR MYSPACE AT 8 PM CST

SEATTLE, WA…MAY 12, 2008…After six top ten R&R Christian Rock singles, four No. 1 Rock hits, three R&R Christian CHR top five hits, a BMI Award and Dove nominations, Seventh Day Slumber has recorded Spanish versions of their hits from their past three BEC Recordings’ albums in one special release entitled  “Rescatame.” This album will bring Seventh Day Slumber’s music and message to the Hispanic community in which lead singer, Joseph Rojas, was born.

Seventh Day Slumber was deeply honored when Latin Grammy-award winning writer and producer, Soraya, contributed her translation and production talents to this album.  Soraya had been moved by the lyrical content of Seventh Day Slumber’s No. 1 hit “Caroline” (”Carolina” in Spanish).  Her work on that song was completed just prior to her untimely death from breast cancer.  “Carolina,” which speaks of how beautiful each of us is in God’s eyes, is dedicated to her memory.

In addition to Soraya, Argentina singer Pablo Oliveras makes a guest appearance on “On My Way Home.” Pablo is known as the most popular Christian Rock artist in Latin American with several No. 1 hits and multiple Latin Grammy and Dove Award nominations.

“Rescatamé” means “Rescue Me,” a sentiment that captures the lyrical content of SDS’ songs, which talk about the healing power of Christ who delivered lead singer/writer, Joseph Rojas, from a life on the street stealing, dealing, and doing drugs.  This is a part of the inspiring testimony that SDS is known for and that fans have come to be encouraged.

The combination of lyrical vulnerability from Rojas’ past plus a bone crunching rock sound to reach a hurting audience has translated into an incredible connection with listeners and led to the commercially successful US efforts “Picking Up the Pieces”, “Once Upon A Shattered Life”, and “Finally Awake.”

In terms of both lifting up the Lord and reaching out to others, “Rescatame” is stocked solid with ten gripping tracks. Issues relating to Rojas’ recovery are plentiful, as are references to being born again (brought first hand by Fryoux) a look at divorce and rebellion (contributed by Holderfield) and a commitment to sexual purity (conveyed by Schwartz). Such scenarios are steeped in reality, but also intertwined with a tangible hopefulness that promises peace when truly surrendering over a life of sin.

“The fact of the matter is there are kids we talk to every day that want to end their lives, just like I did at one point, because their struggle is so great,” Rojas relays. “We’re trying to point them toward the truth and we’re not afraid to lay ourselves on the line in these songs in order to do that.”

The spirit of “Rescatame” is also at work in Joseph Rojas’ ministry to those struggling with personal crisis through his helpline, Teenhopeline. An ordained minister, SDS lead singer Joseph Rojas is also the head of Teenhopeline.  Teenhopeline Inc. strives to impact young people through relevant music, powerful testimonies and personal interaction. It operates a 24/7 cyber radio station broadcasting from www.hopeinanguish.com, and also a three hour syndicated broadcast show that airs on FM stations across North America.  Teenhopeline.com also operates a one-on-one chat helpline, which has reached out to hundreds of thousands of students, giving young people counsel, preventing suicides. In 2007 alone, the helpline brought 7,000 students to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Beginning next week, May 19 at 8 pm CST, and every Monday following, Seventh Day Slumber will be hosting a live broadcast on their MySpace.  The band will communicate live with their fans updating them on new tour dates, upcoming recordings and other happenings.

NORMA JEAN SOON TO UNVEIL ‘THE ANTI MOTHER’

DUE OUT LATE SUMMER ON SOLID STATE RECORDS

BAND IS SET FOR VANS WARPED TOUR MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCES ALL SUMMER LONG

The ANTI MOTHER is coming…

NORMA JEAN–now in the studio with producer Ross Robinson (Slipknot, The Cure, Deftones, At The Drive In, Glassjaw) and engineer Ryan Boesch–will deliver their fourth album THE ANTI MOTHER late this summer on indie Solid State Records (exact release date TBA).  For a few of the album’s songs, the band wrote in collaboration separately with Page Hamilton of Helmet and Chino Moreno of Deftones.

THE ANTI MOTHER marks the follow-up to the Atlanta-based post hardcore group’s critically lauded 2006 Redeemer album, hailed by Revolver magazine as “a menacingly brutal slab of noisecore with just the right hint of melody, while Kerrang! declared it to be “a cauterizing kaleidoscope of earth-clawing turmoil and brutalized sonic adventure…”  Fans will get to experience THE ANTI MOTHER live this summer when NORMA JEAN– CORY BRANDAN (vocals), SCOTTIE HENRY (guitars), JAKE SCHULTZ (bass), CHRIS DAY (guitars) and CHRIS RAINES (drums)–hit the road as one of the headlining main-stage acts on the Vans Warped Tour ‘08.

“The Anti Mother is a character we created which represents anything that is deceptive, and yet possesses an outwardly beautiful nature,” lead singer CORY BRANDAN says of the album title and theme. Musically, he points out “this record is the most melodic album we’ve ever created, but it’s definitely the heaviest record Norma Jean has done as well–and furious at that.”

The spirit of collaboration highlights THE ANTI MOTHER.  “We were able to work with Page and Chino on two separate occasions, and as two of our biggest influences musically, it was definitely a moment having them here in the studio.” CORY notes, “Page came to our practice space and for the first hour he was just showing us cool guitar chords, teaching us new things technically. The song we wrote with him is heavy as crap and full of energy–you’ll notice his influence. For Chino, the writing was more impulsive. We were already in pre-production with Ross, but the song we wrote with Chino came out so diverse and anti-traditional. Chino ended up hanging out for a few days and we wrote two songs with him.” Adds CORY: “Many bands have guest vocalists on their records, but we were inspired by the idea of collaborative songwriting with some of our favorite musicians. In a collaboration, no one is beyond reproach, and there is always something we can learn and someone to learn it from.”

NORMA JEAN deliver live, and have performed on both the Vans Warped Tour and Ozzfest festivals–a distinction only a few bands can claim. Writing in the LA Weekly, Greg Burk remarked, “The first thing I noticed about Norma Jean…was…the quality of the noise–two guitars crashing out dissonant hi-lo chords in compellingly hurtful ways. The second thing was the rhythm–instruments vying back and forth in bazooka volleys rather than locking into standard metal’s united riff-and-hammer; it was post-doomsday white funk.”

On the Vans Warped Tour ‘08 all summer long, NORMA JEAN will join Against Me!, Angels and Airwaves, Bouncing Souls, Gym Class Heroes, Jack’s Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack, Paramore, Pennywise, Rise Against, Say Anything, Street Dogs, The Academy Is…, The All-American Rejects and The Vandals, among many others.

Here are critical soundbites for NORMA JEAN’s Redeemer (2006, Solid State):

“Norma Jean keep [Redeemer] free of any self-absorbed instrumental tracks, allowing the record to flow and rage continuously for almost 45 minutes…Redeemer’s angst and fury are undeniable.”
–Kevin Wade, ALTERNATIVE PRESS (December 2006)

“A fine blend of metal, hardcore, prog and noise.”
–Greg Prato, METAL EDGE (June 2007)

“The unstoppable juggernaut of southern death rock that is Norma Jean has matured into a major force-to-be-reckoned with in the music world.”
–Tom Pharo, KOTORI (July 2006)

“Redeemer is a smeared amalgam of evangelism, scorching rhythm, tangled lead guitar work and violent vocal strokes across a hard-rock canvas. Released on the prestigious indie label Solid State Records, Redeemer is at once focused and articulated, heavy and personal, concerning itself with the primacy of sound and expression.”
–OMAHA READER (Omaha, NE; November 2006)

“[Redeemer] isn’t a typical metalcore release, eschewing breakdowns and obvious mosh parts for progressive song structures and subtle atmospherics.”
–Jonah Bayer, CLEVELAND FREE TIMES (November 2006)

“‘A Grand Scene for a Color Film’ sets the tone for the disc with molten waves of stun-gun guitar, shock-and-awe percussion, and blown-throat bellowing courtesy of singer Cory Brandan. From that double-distorted point on, Norma Jean gives you a good idea what metal experimentalists Neurosis might sound like mainlining Black Flag.”
–Mike Usinger, GEORGIA STRAIGHT (Vancouver, BC; November 2006)

“Cory Brandan experiments with vocal lucidity while preserving his intense tone, and the dual guitars–declaring temporary truces from their constant clashing — occasionally march lockstep, generating thunderous grooves.”
–Andrew Miller, THE STRANGER (Seattle, November 2006)

BEC RECORDINGS & KUTLESS GIVING AWAY FREE MUSIC

SEATTLE, WA…May 13, 2008…In anticipation of the forthcoming June 24th studio project, To Know That You’re Alive, BEC Recordings’ rockers, Kutless, are currently giving away their first single of the album for free.  The debut rock single “The Feeling” is available for download at the exclusive Kutless studio website that features blogs, updates and photos throughout the recording process.  Downloads of the song began on Friday at 3 pm Pacific and an hour later more than 1,000 downloads had been given away.  Currently the band has given away an astonishing 12,500+ downloads of their single.

“We are very excited to give away our first single,” shares lead singer Jon Micah Sumrall. “We have been working on these songs for months and have been anxiously awaiting our new album’s release.  It is very rare that we are able to share the songs that we have been working on, before the release date and this has been a great opportunity for us to share with our fans, some of our enthusiasm for this new record.  Giving this song away has allowed many of our fans to be a part of this excitement and anticipation by giving them a brief glimpse into what June 24th may hold when the full-length record is released.  We hope that this song simply gets people excited and from the looks of it so far, that seems to be exactly what’s happening!”

To Know That You’re Alive is the band’s fifth full-length album following the hit records that have sold more than 1.5 million copies.  The band partnered for the first time with producer Pete Kipley (The Afters, MercyMe, Phil Wickham) for this project. In addition, the album features strings recorded in London at Abbey Road Studios for several songs including the title track. Kutless also recently finished their 30+ acoustic tour this spring.  After a summer of key music festivals, Kutless will headline the first ever Creation Tour, which will be a rock replica on wheels of the 30-year-old summer festival.

About Kutless
The Portland, Oregon-based Kutless has emerged as one of Christian and rock music’s hottest acts. Kutless has played before nearly two million fans in the past four years, has had eight radio hits from the band’s first three CDs, Kutless, Sea of Faces and Strong Tower, and been nominated for multiple Dove Awards, earning its first last year for the band’s participation on the Special Event Album of the Year, the soundtrack to “Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.” Kutless’ music also has been featured in television and film.  On the NBC hit TV show “Scrubs,” in an episode this season titled “My Bright Idea,” the Kutless song “All of the Words” played for almost two minutes during a pivotal scene of the popular comedy.

Launched by original members Jon Micah Sumrall (lead vocals) and guitarist James Mead, the band formed first as a modern rock/worship band at Warner Pacific College in Portland in 2000, influenced by Christian rock predecessors such as the Supertones as well as mainstream modern rockers like Staind, Foo Fighters, and Incubus.  Kutless signed to Tooth & Nail/BEC in late 2001 and released its self-titled debut the following year, which went on to become the fastest-selling debut in the label’s history.  Hearts of the Innocent marked the recording debut of the band’s new members, drummer Jeffrey Gilbert and bass player Dave Leutkenhoelter, both formerly of alt-rock band Seven Places. In 2007, Nick De Partee joined the band as the new guitarist after being with the band for over a year as their guitar tech. JESUSFREAKHIDEOUT.COM ANNOUNCES THE RE-LAUNCH OF INDIE MUSIC SECTION

Popular Website Hosts Highly Successful Showcase in Nashville

(Bethlehem, Penn.)  May 9, 2008 –In an exciting move for music fans and musicians, JesusFreakHideout.com announces the re-launch of its Indie Music section.  This section of the popular website, titled The State of Independents, will be devoted to assessing the conditions of independent music, critiquing indie acts and sharing these acts with its readers. JFH aims to give indie acts a chance to be heard and highlighted.

“There is a lot of great music being created by independent Christian artists today. As the business model continues to evolve in the music industry, independent artists are finding more opportunities than ever. The State of Independents is a reflection of what’s happening in the industry,” notes industry veteran Robert Tyson. Jesusfreakhideout.com President John DiBiase recently appointed Tyson, formerly with EMI Christian Music Group and currently the owner of GRAVTY Music.Books.Art. in Reading, Penn., to direct the content and reviews for The State of Independents.

The State of Independents will offer an indie review service that guarantees a listen to a recording, a non-rated paragraph review, a link to the act’s website or community page (i.e. Myspace, Purevolume, Facebook), an archived review for continuous exposure and reference, and exposure through the JesusFreakHideout.com readership. Each submission for review will also be considered for an “Indie Spotlight” review in which the site will highlight the best of the best independent artists with a full-page review and extended information on each release. For more details on CD review submission, visit http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/indiemusic/submissions.asp.

“We are not only looking to recognize the best current indies, but shining a light on regional artists who may have a larger stage awaiting them in the future. MercyMe was a touring indie for years before signing to INO Records. Third Day used to be an indie band playing The Strand near Atlanta and Sanctus Real had three independent releases before Say It Loud ever hit the shelves,” says Tyson.

JesusFreakHideout.com also recently hosted “The Hideout At The Rutledge” in downtown Nashville alongside GMA Week 2008. Featuring top acts Jackson Waters and Sarah Kelly among others, the show drew an extensive crowd of fans, musicians and industry executives. Photos, video and a review of the event can be found at http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/concerts/HideoutAtTheRutledge.asp. Video from the show is also available free through the JesusFreakHideout.com iTunes podcast.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – May 9, 2008 – Ten years ago, just as an emerging generation of new worship leaders began transforming corporate worship, WorshipTogether.com was launched to carry this infectious new worship beyond the corridors of the church sanctuaries to impact the church and culture on a daily basis.  WorshipTogether.com now unveils a major website upgrade to carry its commitment to its position as the innovative leader in online worship community and resources into the next decade, announced Jimi Williams, director of Worship Resources for EMI CMG Publishing, which operates WorshipTogether.com.

Among the newest highlights available to WorshipTogether.com members are a superior search engine, a new video player and a Worship Together blog.  These additions have been designed to complement WorshipTogether’s already extensive features, such as the most successful modern worship catalog in the world, weekly e-newsletters, free transposable sheet music, New Song Café videos and a streaming jukebox.

“More than 400,000 registered users and a million page views every month demonstrate that WorshipTogether.com is a passionate and engaged community of worshippers.  With these newest enhancements, we continue to construct a relevant and user-friendly environment that we hope will excite our loyalist members and attract fresh new voices to our community,” said Williams.

With a preeminent modern worship catalog that features writers like Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown and Stuart Townend, along with newly signed songwriters Steve Fee, Matt Maher and Michael Gungor, WorshipTogether.com’s value as a worship music resource is unparalleled.  WorshipTogether.com’s new and more comprehensive search engine allows users to navigate through hundreds of great worship songs by title, songwriter, lyric, theme, Scripture reference or music register.  Beyond the music, the search function will also locate key words in products, Bible studies, and discussion boards on the site.

New Song Café has hosted an inside video look at the inspiration, song and techniques of the most respected worship leaders.  The proprietary Tune-In video player makes the video features of WorshipTogether.com even more compelling, with live worship clips, exclusive interviews with worship artists and originally produced video segments.

CASTING CROWNS’ HEADLINING “THE ALTAR AND THE DOOR TOUR”

MAINTAINS POLLSTAR POSITION AS BEST-ATTENDED, HIGHEST-
GROSSING CHRISTIAN TOUR OF THE YEAR

Tour Delivers a Stunning 450,000 Fans Nationwide and
Unites Nearly 20,000 World Vision Child Sponsorships

(Nashville, Tenn.) May 8, 2008 - Casting Crowns, featured guests Leeland and breakout artist John Waller, also known as “The Altar and The Door Tour,” just tapped off a year of memorable concert events, joining record-breaking crowds in 83 markets and tallying more than 450,000 in attendance nationwide since September.

“Our goal from the beginning was to point people to a daily walk with Jesus through our music and testimonies,” says Mark Hall of Casting Crowns. “I believe God has honored our efforts and people saw and heard Him clearly!”

Standing steady as the highest-grossing tour in Christian music for the 2007-2008 season, the tour captured countless entertainment cover features in newspapers coast to coast and most notable attendances in Nashville, with 10,000 concert-goers and 14,004 gathering to worship at Greensboro Coliseum. Incidentally, attendance of “The Altar and The Door Tour” set a career-high for Casting Crowns, garnering 100,000 more than its previous “Lifesong Tour,” which brought in a whopping 350,000 total.

“What an honor it is to serve God along side Casting Crowns and John Waller,” explains Jack Mooring of Leeland. “This tour never lost its overall focus, and that’s to lift Jesus higher.”

“The Altar and The Door Tour” united 19,596 World Vision children with sponsors. Casting Crowns has now exceeded 30,000 career child sponsorships for the child relief organization.

Partnering with radio stations across the country has proven invaluable, as well, according to Jeff Taylor, General Manager of WAY-FM in Ft. Meyers, Florida, “The Altar and The Door Tour’ was the highlight of the year for thousands of WAY-FM listeners in Southwest Florida!  The band members and crew were so gracious and kind - no rock stars here!!  …their ministry impacted lives for eternity.”

Well-seasoned promoters from the East Coast to the West Coast have not only been exceedingly encouraged by the attendances, but also revived and renewed by the response of worship from crowds. DC Concert promoter, Carol Auxier explains, “It’s an awesome feeling to stand stage side and look out into the crowd and see thousands of people in praise and worship, responding to the band in concert. Casting Crowns has a humble spirit like none I have seen, even though they have reached peaks in the music industry that few artists have reached.”

Jon Robberson of Celebration Concerts says, “The Casting Crowns concerts reminded me of why I love promoting Christian concerts and the purpose I’ve dedicated my professional life to.”

GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum artist Casting Crowns with lead singer Mark Hall recently led the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards with seven wins including Group of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, and Song of the Year for its No. 1 hit “East to West.” The group’s third studio recording The Altar and The Door achieved an historical debut at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart with 130,000 first-week copies sold, making it the highest debut in the country that week. The album sailed to RIAA Gold status in 10 weeks. Casting Crowns was the No. 1 top-selling Christian music artist of 2007 and won its first American Music Award in November.

Lead singer Mark Hall is a full-time youth pastor, serving his 17th year in youth ministry as a student pastor at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in Atlanta. All seven band members remain active in student ministry in the Atlanta area and tour part-time around their local church duties. Opposite Way, the second album from Leeland, released February 26, 2008. Leeland is: Leeland Mooring (lead vocals, guitar); Jack Mooring (keyboard, background vocals); Jake Holtz (bass); Mike Smith (drums); and Matt Campbell (lead guitar). Created and produced by Paulist Productions, Tyler’s Ride is the latest in the growing world of Internet television.  With general market hits like Quarterlife and Roommates, this expanding medium is becoming a launching point for writers and actors, showcasing new talent such as Tyler’s Ride lead actors Grant Alan and Natalie Wachen.  Also featuring Christian music favorite, Jeremy Camp, in his acting debut, new episodes of the web series are posted each Tuesday, taking viewers into the life of Tyler, an aspiring musician, and his quest to follow his dreams.

“The Web TV series follows the adventures of Tyler, a young man whose search for identity and purpose leads him to his new-found passion for music,” explains Paulist Productions.  “Aspiring musicians can watch episodes on the website for inspiration.  The hit, winning song should embody the energy, feel and vision of the Tyler’s Ride series.  We want to encourage up-and-coming artists to follow their dreams and put their passion to action.”
