Music from the Alpha to the Omega

Grits – Reiterate

Provident
Grade: B

Grits’ eighth full-length album Reiterate is a new starting point for the group.  This album is the first release on their very own record label, Revolution Art.

The beats for this album are refreshing.  With a group that has been around for so long, I would have expected very refined beats.  For this album, however, Grits went with a more simple approach.

The lyrics overall leave me wanting more.  They mention God every once in awhile.  However, God is not the focus of the lyrics.

Overall, I like this album.  Most of the songs are upbeat and fun to listen to.  The beats especially give you a break from what you would hear in most Christian rap.  The only reservation I have about this album is the lack of adoration in the lyrics.
