The Christian music industry may be in disarray, but there is still a need for spiritually uplifting worship music. Chad Gentry does this with a fresh dash of worship tunes on “Time To Shine.”
The CD has mass appeal because it hovers around adult contemporary, inspirational and contemporary worship, making the new songs very versatile. They would be equally powerful acoustic, full-band, and/or with a choir, useable in the church and useable for everyday listening.
Of the 10 tracks, all but one were co-written by Gentry himself. One of the more encouraging tracks is “Straight and the Narrow,” which has a nice gentle flow to it with a steady build up to the chorus. The final track, “Jesus, You Are Worthy” is the only track that is not original. However, it is an awesome closer that in retrospect describes the reason behind the album as a whole – Jesus you ARE worthy of our worship.
