Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn’t
VeggieTales
Big Idea
The latest video from the VeggieTales brand is a spoof on Pinocchio, and the story line is not that far off from the original. Just because of the lesson I found this to be one of my favorite episodes and second only to “The Lord of the Beans.” It’s just going to be hard to ever top that one! Anyway, Pistachio, like the prodigal son, has to learn lessons the hard way. As a parent I can relate to this episode all to well. I would like nothing more than to protect my children from making horrible choices, but in the end I have to trust in God to help me with that. As parents we cannot do it alone. I think the story of Pistachio is beneficial for parents to watch as well as the children. We need instruction just as bad and why not get it with a little humor and some loveable cartoon characters.
