“The Saving One” is a fairly standard modern worship album with 10 songs written mostly for the church, a respectful standard in itself. For that reason and purpose, the album should meet your expectations. There are themes of redemption and restoration along with a more personal “Rediscover You.” This song is confessional in that the lyrics deal directly with a burned-out faith. It is so easy to feel this way and to lose the passion. I also got into the more upbeat “Declaration of Dependence.” Overall, the lyrical content is strong and pointedly Christ-centered, while the soundtrack is more or less average and as expected.
