The latest from Above the Golden State is a collection of pop-rock tunes with meaningful lyrics and catchy sounds. The title track is an anthem like song that you can easily find yourself jigging to and singing along. It is also the crux of the album with its message of love – the golden rule (and command) to “love your savior and your neighbor like yourself.” Listening on to “I am Loved” the theme continues as this song is a reminder of God’s enduring love. “The Golden Rule” is a six song EP and if you’re looking for a pick-me-up anthem like pop/rock CD with edifying lyrics, “The Golden Rule” is a decent option.
