Big Idea
“O Holy Night” is the companion CD for the new Veggie movie “The Little Drummer Boy.” The CD features Amy Grant, Matthew West, Wynonna Judd, Steven Curtis Chapman, and BeBe & CeCe Winans.
The lead song, “Was He A Boy Like Me” depicts the wonder and curiosity of a child pondering the life of baby Jesus. Jr. Asparagus I believe sings this song, but I do not know all of the voices. Some of the other key Veggie led tunes include “Do You Hear What I Hear,” a festive choir of voices on “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and the peppy “Can’t Smile Without Ewe” from the movie soundtrack.
The feature artists’ songs include Steven Curtis Chapman on “Meant to Be,” the Winan’s on the title track from the movie, “The Little Drummer Boy,” and the very fitting, “Give This Christmas Away,” by Amy Grant and Matthew West. Wynonna Judd is featured on “It’s About Love.”
The combination of the features and the veggie led songs, make for a well-balanced project that has meaningful insight for the adults, and uplifting and fun sing-a-long songs for the children.
