Shaoey and Dot By Mary Beth and Stephen Curtis Chapman Illustrated by Jim Chapman Tommy Nelson Books
The family of Stephen Curtis Chapman and wife, Mary Beth Chapman has grown from three children to six with the adoption of three children from China . They wanted to share this personal experience with others through their book “Shaoey and Dot”.
With pictures that are beautifully illustrated by Mary Beth's brother Jim Chapman, the book takes the reader to a far away land where beautiful children are waiting for a family they can call their own. The story is told from the perspective of a colorful ladybug named Dot who tells of a baby girl being adopted into the Chapman family. The baby girl finally has a name, Shoey, and a family who loves her very much. Many families will be encouraged and uplifted as they read this special story of love and hope.
The Chapman's have supported many families who have adopted through an organization they co-founded called Shaohannah's Hope. The foundation seeks to provide help for families who choose to adopt. You can read more about the Chapman's experience at www.ShaoeyandDot.com or go to the foundation web site at www.shaohannahshope.org .
