A Thunder and Lightning Bug Story marks the third installment of the Shaoey and Dot series by the Chapman’s. The first story was inspired by the adoption of their daughter Shaohannah Hope, and the primary story was based around the adoption process. Their second story consisted of a Christmas tale about the true miracle of Christmas – Jesus Christ.

For their third book, the Chapman’s jump headlong into one of the many issues of child rearing – being afraid of the dark! In a very cute way, and with vivid illustrations, little Dot once again helps Shaoey through a difficult time. In the end, Shaoey learns a valuable lesson about facing fears and trusting God. Even when she can’t see Him, but learning that He can always see her, even in the dark.
