Dan Haseltine, lead singer of Jars of Clay, is taking a step away from the microphone and directing his writing skills to a whole new demographic with his new children’s book “The One, The Only, Magnificent Me.”  Mackinac Island Press is publishing the new book and it is available at Target stores across the country, however not exclusively, so you may find the book in other bookstores as well. 

The story line is an important lesson of self-worth and like a good bedtime song this book is an excellent instrument of encouragement for young children.  Especially since those children hear all kinds of contradicting messages as to what “makes” them important.  In this story, Haseltine wants kids to know that they are magnificent just as they are – how they have been created in God’s image. 

Joel Schoon Tanis illustrates the book in vibrant colors and like the story; the illustrations stir the imagination to help bring the story alive.  You can check the Mackinac Island Press site for a digital preview of the book as well as purchasing information.
