Rick Brown – Birthplace of A King

Christian Songwriter and worship leader, Richard Brown has been writing both Christian and Secular songs for over 25 years. After years on the road, he decided to pursue a university music education. Releasing three CDs, his contemporary Christian musical style varies from pop, to blues, with both classical and jazz “inspirational influences. The Psalms are his strongest inspiration, as his emphasis is on honest and meaningful lyrics, of real life in a fallen world, and a clear celebration of the strength and grace we all receive from a true walk of faith.

This new Christmas song is about the magnificent event that took place that first Christmas day and the beauty and paradox as Jesus stepped out of eternity, and into humanity on the most important mission in History. The Angels observe as Jesus takes the first breath of the air He created. The purpose of His journey from Heaven to earth is expressed through the irony of how “His disposition” had to change for this mission. “Birthplace of a King” was written, as many of his songs are, for his church. In this case, an outdoor drive-thru event of Bethlehem was built for the community to hear the story of Mary and Joseph, and the birth of our Saviour. The energy is developed through orchestral strings and dynamic variations from the peace of a quiet manger to the glory of an angelic celebration. Download the song Here.
