Sara Groves October 6th, 2001 Crossroads Community Church Madison, WI
Sara spoke of her smelly but loveable dog named "spiffy," her humble upbringing, and the values that her parents instilled in her. Which all lead into "Generations," reflecting on Deuteronomy 11 in that we are responsible for generations to come by the choices we make. Sara also talked about Pastor Philip Wannemacher and how he put up a tent in the church parking lot in order to draw people in. From that came "Tent In The Center Of Town." By choice, Sara saved "The Word" for during the wrap up. Speaking of the sovergnity of God Sara explained that even through tragidies God is still God and He is still in control. God is not a fad or saying and He is who He was then and is now. Sara finished up her first set with "He's Always Been Faithful," mixing in with audience participation on "Great Is Thy Faitfulness." After a brief moment of applause and shouting Sara and band returned to the stage to share one more song. Sara sang the soft and moving "This Journey Is My Own." Reminding the audience that we should maintain and audience of one. Overall the night was warm and friendly. |
