Alice Street and More "Alice Street and More" is slow melodic rock that draws comparisons to the Wallflowers and a little Tom Petty. There is a heavy relationship theme going through the CD, as a matter of fact (or opinion) there is more "baby, baby" on this CD than Amy Grant's "Heart In Motion." Family, ("Town Like This,") and small town themes ("Different Way") also enter into the mix. These two specific songs and the acoustic ballad "Home" sum up my experience of growing up in the rural midwest. Struggling sometimes, dreaming about the future and better places, but in the long run feeling good about calling it home. If you like Jacob Dylan and the Wallflowers, or the rock of Tom Petty (not the vocals) then Breathing Machine's "Alice Street and More" will please you as well. - Ken W. |
