Drummer Girl... Where Are You?
The Temper Tantrums
Red Tag Records

The Tantrums are girl-punk gone crazy. Or as Effie Tantrum described them, "powder puff girls meet the Ramones." "Drummer Girl" is good clean punk rock with a twist of humor here and there. Such is the case with the track "Han Solo" as Leanne Tantrum struggles with the fact that so many of her girlfriends are goo-goo for Harrison Ford. The Tantrums also do an interesting remake of "My Boyfriends Back." The song "Drummer Girl" is a cry for a replacement to their former female drummer-girl. Someone to complete the temper-trio.

Effie describes the Tantrums ministry or message as living a christian life and still having fun being a punk. After a show, many questions are asked about why their music is different, thus opening up a window of opportunity to share their faith.

Most of all "Drummer Girl... Where Are You" is about having fun. Being void of "christian" lyrics doesn't mean that it's not worth while though. The music is fun and the lyrics are clean. This makes the Tantrums at least worth checking out. As I found out on their web page, they are not ashamed to put their faith out there for everyone to see.
