Lifest Artist Spotlight

Rock and Roll Worship Circus

Following the theme of detours and delays I'd like to share a story of the RRWC's journey to Lifest 2003.

Gabriel - So we caught a red-eye from Portland at 11:59pm, flew to Dallas, to fly to Chicago. Which makes no sense in the routing world of flights. So we didn't sleep too much. We got the mini van, fought our way through Chicago traffic to get here.

What happened was like two months ago when we booked the flights for the festival they didn't have the schedule made up yet. We just knew we were playing sometime in the latter afternoon. So we were like our flights getting in at 9:30(AM) so make sure you don't book us any sooner than 2:30(PM). So they booked us at 1:00(PM).

We were too air-head artist to notice that until yesterday. So they ended up canceling our 1:00(PM) slot and putting us on a really, really tiny stage with a bunch of bark dust at 7:00(PM).

So that was it. I mean it was cool. I was really surprised that so many people came. There was a lot of people that found out about the schedule change really fast. It was really cool, but we were frazzled.

We didn't have any gear and we had to borrow all of Seventh Day Slumber's back line (amps). We had our guitars and stuff, but the festival doesn't provided any amps. Another thing we didn't notice I guess. We could have rented gear, but they rent the bands gear at one hundred bucks an amp and we only had $120 on us. So we couldn't rent $300 worth of amps.

Ken - What do we learn out of all this?

Gabriel - That's it's really not about us. You have your good days and your bad days, but even so you find out that the Lord really ministered to people. It really had nothing to do with anything except being obedient and doing the best that you possibly can.
