Who Are We?

The concert was awesome. Michael Card weaves the beauty of Scripture and shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ in his music. The show lasted almost three hours with Scripture and worship. It could have lasted all night because the audience thoroughly enjoyed his ministry. He shared his journey through the Bible. The song, Soul Anchor, is Michael Card's written reflection upon the book of Hebrews. This is the final piece of the overview of the bible. The concert was a beautiful overview of his ministry.

Michael Card shared a beautiful song about his father and shared wisdom on the love of his wife and children. I gave my life to Christ about eight years ago. As a young Christian living in North Pole, Alaska a friend shared with me some Michael Card music. The song was titled "Dragon Slayer" and from that day on, I have cherished his ministry to our Lord and Savior.

I asked Michael Card the following questions:

  1. Who musically influenced you in your life (as a child)?
Answer: His father had a love for jazz music and his mother enjoyed classical music. Growing up in Nashville TN area, the music and culture greatly influenced him.
  2. What inspired you to use a Celtic theme in "Starkindler"?
Answer: He visits Belfast Ireland yearly and enjoys the music and culture. He believes it was on a dare to try to weave a Celtic theme into his music.
  3. Has your wife ever influenced any of your songs?
Answer: Yes. My wife is my best friend. She is my best friend and we are extremely close.
  4. While reading on meditating on Scripture, how are you inspired to write a song?
Answer: It is about imagination and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Also, it is all about relationships. Our relationship with the Lord, families, and friends.

I shared with Michael Card that I think he has a wonderful his ministry. Michael stated that every day he is less impressed with himself (writing songs, music, etc.,) and it is all about relationships. What a wonderful and humble servant of the Lord!
