Psalmody The David/Asaph Project David Asaph Music It has been said that the Book of Psalms represents the greatest collection of prayers, poetry, and songs. As an early form of Worship music the Psalms provided much comfort and advice for daily living. Even to this day you can turn to the Psalms and find comfort and wisdom. Back in 1988 David Albract began composing melodies to Psalms. To his amazement these melodies began to flow out effortlessly, a spiritual gift no doubt. Now many years later, David gathered a group of gifted musicians and put together twelve of those Psalms on this CD. This production is very distinct and musically pleasing. Although easy listening the melodies are complex and very complementary to the Psalms. David’s Texas tweeked voice is backed by a mixture of strings and percussion that really catches your ear. This is a perfect CD for home or work and especially for times of reflection and praying. Its something I’d like to hear while browsing through the local Christian book store or sitting back sipping a cup of decaf at the local Christian coffee shop. Please take some time and browse the David
Asaph Music web site. There you will find more information on Psalmody,
including purchasing info. Also pay a visit to Psalmody.Net
for more information on the art of Psalmody. |
