Joy Williams has spent the past year working on her grades and her music.
Recently she graduated from high school with a grade point of 4.0. In
July, 2001 her self titled debut "Joy Williams" will be released. On top
of all that she has been active in the Christian music world touring on
the "Left Behind: The Concert Tour," and "Winter Jam 2001." Joy also appeared
on the Reunion Christmas CD (2000) with the beautiful song "2000 Decembers
Joy has a beautiful voice. Songs like "No Less" and "I Believe In You"
demonstrate vocal maturity. The news is that she has been well received
on tour, and in the studio she was known as "One-Take Williams" because
of her near flawless vocal ability.
Is she a prodigy or is it a gift from God? In her biography Joy was quoted
as saying, "God gives each of us certain gifts to use for His glory, and
I'm just thankful that I get to be a vessel for his love at this season
in my life. At the end of the day, though, what matters most is that I'm
a child of God."
Even though recently there has been a flood of female vocalists, each
has their own talents and gifts to offer. Joy's is her beautiful and stirring
voice. Along with that, she has a growing knowledge of the scriptures.
While in junior high, Joy studied other religions and came to the conclusion
that "...what I believed was the ultimate truth and we're suppose to ask
God and test Him. I am more in love with Jesus now than ever before."
Watch for Joy this fall on the Oxygen Tour with Avalon and ZoeGirl.
