Nikki Leonti debuted in 1998 with "Shelter Me." When she first went on tour she was 17 yrs old. Caught up in the touring, success, and stardom, Nikki's spiritual life became neglected leading to an unexpected pregnancy.

Already engaged, Nikki and fiancé Ryan then moved up their Wedding date. In June of 2000, she gave birth to daughter Jaslyn Taylee. Nikki has pulled through the embarrassment, depression, and a complicated pregnancy to find a new born faith. "I ended up spending my entire pregnancy being taught how to totally depend on God, not only to restore my spiritual and emotional health, but my physical health as well," said Nikki.

It wasn't easy for Nikki to come back to make this CD and perform on stage again. "I never dreamed this could be restored. I went through months of counseling and prayer sessions and accountability sessions with my pastors... I know it's not going to be easy to face it, but God had restored me and I need to tell people about Christ and what He's done for me." Nikki stated.

Nikki has co-written many of the songs on her sophomore project, drawing from her life experiences. "Letting Go" is one of those songs, singing about giving control back to God and starting over. "Your Love Is All I Need" is about Nikki learning that God's love is faithful, accepting, and fulfilling. "...God's love is the only thing that will fill the emptiness, which I eventually realized. It's a simple concept, but an important one," said Nikki.

Nikki's sound has matured into a cross between teen-pop and contemporary. Her vocals are a lot less on the preteen screeching side and more controlled. "Letting Go" and "The Direction Of You" are perfect examples of Nikki's refined voice. A voice that gets into your head and plants thoughts and inspirations.

God is loving and he commands us to be as well. God is not too small to use our weakness, and I pray that Nikki Leonti's lessons and the wisdom gained goes beyond her own life and she can be a conduit to edify others.
