Rocketown Records, known for being more of an artist centered company, adds another touch of class to its lineup. In December of 2000, Out Of The Grey signed a deal with Rocketown Records. A perfect fit for both the artists and the company. Out Of The Grey's Rocketown debut is appropriately titled 6.1. Six being the number of studio albums from Out Of The Grey and the One indicating it's first release with Rocketown Records. Unlike computer software version updates this update works. The main theme of 6.1 is not holding on too tightly. When the Grey duo, the Dante's, found themselves without a recording contract they were unsure of their direction, but they held on and eventually came to Rocketown. Songs like "Brave" exemplify this theme and "Waiting" also picks up on it. Their first single "Shine Like Crazy" was a last minute addition to the album, but has the most impact by far. This is a song about getting back the fire in our lives. For the Dante's, it was about recapturing the joy and passion they once felt for their music. Overall 6.1 is a classy, heart-to-God recording, with meaningful lyrics and an awesome performing duo. -Ken |
