Who Are We?

Psalms
Shane Barnard and Shane Everett
Inpop Records

Shane Barnard and Shane Everett have joined their musical talents to form a powerful guitar and voice duo. In their new release, Psalms, they have taken much of their lyrics from the book of Psalms.

These two worship leaders for Breakaway Ministries have set their focus on leading a new generation of college-age adults towards an enduring relationship with God. They have toured colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and various youth camps as well. Although Barnard and Everett have only been together for a year and a half, their individual strengths seem to accent one another and enabled them to become fast friends.

This record is seen as a musician’s love letter to God. Ranging from acoustic guitar with simple percussive segments to funky bass lines, these two men have set their sights on developing intimate relationships with our Heavenly Father, and they encourage others to do the same.

Favorites include: "Breath of God" because of the recently added vocals. Barnard’s vocals enter and offer praise and worship to God while a funky bass line, and acoustic guitar offer a new type of praise and worship style. Another is "May the Words of My Mouth" because the song has beautiful violin parts that seems to express the cry of Barnard’s heart to have his works and actions be pleasing to God at all times. I especially found the text, "You’re my rock, You’re why I sing," to hit home. What a great daily prayer for all of us!
