Who Are We?

Freeman

Self-titled
Ronnie Freeman
Rocketown Records

Ronnie Freeman was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and began writing music in high school. He began his music career as a full-time minister of music. After spending many hours at his piano, he began writing songs about his own experiences as a believer. His family and friends encouraged him to try pursuing music as a career. Finally, Ronnie took a step of faith and moved to Nashville where he currently lives with his wife and three kids.

Ronnie Freeman's self-titled debut is a collection of 11 tracks meant to inspire Christians to keep striving for a deeper relationship with God and never become satisfied with where they are at any given point in time. His "piano-based pop tunes" are rock solid in their message. He uses his strong voice and uncompromising lyrics to reveal his heart and desire to become a man longing to be "salt and light in the darkness."

According to Michael W. Smith, Ronnie Freeman is "passionate, devoted to his family and has a real gift when it comes to the piano and songwriting. He is one the Church will really want to hear."

Favorites include: "Deeper Still", because like many of the tracks on this CD it is an inspiring challenge that Ronnie throws out to his audience. The piano accompaniment and the cello seem to drill into the inner parts of the listener's heart and provide a solid foundation for Ronnie's worshipful lyrics. Also, "Better Than This" because, although it was never intended to be recorded, it is a good reminder of every small thing that God gives us everyday. It is a slower tune, but very uplifting. It is not flashy, but rather the music and the spirit with which Ronnie sings with are very touching to the listener's heart.
