Thrive Like the renowned secular rock group U2, Newsboys have returned with another powerful, lyrically-intense album. "Thrive" is a ten-track work of art that is a mellow, yet stimulating rock-pop album. Long time followers of one of Christian music's first rock bands will dig this album. "Thrive" is composed of a nice blend of new, creative, edgy sounds woven with the original styling that made Newsboys a top band. "Million Pieces," is alive with the old sound of the Newsboys. Title track, "Thrive," follows "Million Pieces" and is characteristic of their old style. Both tracks are charismatic and soulful. Track 7, "Cornelius," is a synergy of percussive edge and soaring rifts. John Woo is another creative, unique track representative of the Newsboys, seeking to always enhance and expand their sound. The final track, "Lord," is and carries the album to a nice close. "Thrive" is a flavorful artistic work that will no doubt give the Newsboys another Platinum album. Even better about "Thrive" is that is all goes back to the source of life, Him. -Bridget L. |
