I spent the first few spins looking for the next "Imagine," when I realized that was probably the distraction Mercy Me would be hoping to avoid. When I stopped looking for the next big hit I was really able to absorb this offering more fully.

Mercy Me is a group of seasoned veterans who have been blessed with talent galore. Even before the success of "Almost There" they were making and selling CD's. The success of "Almost There" just helped to firm their place in an overcrowded market.

On "Spoken For" the band successfully weaves heartfelt worship with a steady rock beat. The underlying meaning to the project is a reflection of the title track, to know that our sins are covered and are hearts belong to our redeemer.

Favorites include "Crazy," as it reminds me to stay grounded in God's world instead of getting caught up in the fast-paced world, and the upbeat "Your Glory Goes On."

Mercy Me hasn't duplicated past efforts, nor have they set the music on cruise control. They have done just what they are called to do and that is to make a joyful noise.
