Who Are We?

Hero

Hero
Daily Planet
Reunion Records

You can really get into the funk-rock mix of the Daily Planet. With a style that's similar to The Dave Matthews Band, "Flying Blind" and "More To Life" quickly envelop you in the funk. Almost to the point where all your really focus on is the music. Then comes "Questioning the Notion," a song about doubting that God is in control. This one powerful song brings me back to ground level and allows me to focus on the many questions that go through my own head. Best of all the song acknowledges doubt but promises hope.

(Indented)"Questioning the notion that God is full of love/Is a tempting road to take when you forget about His blood/But I'll choose to still believe Him, His heart is kind and just/I'm only seeing half the picture, for the other half I'll trust".(/indented)

After pondering on "Questioning the Notion", I really had a better feel for the rest of Hero's intelligent lyrics that express the hope that is gifted by the blood of Christ.

Even with it's close similarities to Dave Matthews, Third Day, or Matchbox Twenty, the band still holds it's own nitch. Through creative writing and refined musicianship they take a familiar sound and bring new life to it.
