Woven & Spun Dove award winner, Nichole Nordeman has returned with a heart-warming third album, "Woven & Spun." After two highly successful album ventures with producer, Mark Hammond, Nichole has paired up with him again. Hit producer, Charlie Peacock (DC Talk, new voice Aaron Spiro) joined the powerful team of Mark & Nichole, adding a new slant to her original sounds. There is an air of joy and blissfulness in her new album that has seemingly transpired from her new life in marital bliss. Sprinkled with self-reflective songs, the momentum of this album is held at a constant with Nichole's crisp voice, beautiful melodies, moving lyrics. The opening track on this album is "Holy," a gripping piece that portrays the picture of a girl falling to her knees singing and praising Him. "Healed," is a sweeping ballad that soothingly transitions into a lyrically rich, toe-tapping song, "Never Loved You More." Track six is a unique song, "In Your Eyes," that finds its origin on an album by hit secular artist, Peter Gabriel. It is a deep song that could easily be open for interpretation and slanted toward a Christian view, coming from the "eyes" of our Father. For those unfamiliar with this artist, or new to Christian music, you might compare Nichole Nordeman's stellar voice to a soulful blend of the Dixie Chicks with non-secular stars Point of Grace, and a sprinkle of Ginny Owens. "Woven & Spun" is an album that will be warmly received by fans of the contemporary Christian genre. -Bridget |
