Back Home The creative, unique folk-ish sound that made Caedmon's Call so popular, is back with another album. "Back Home" is the fifth major label album release for this upstanding Christian folk-rock band. Album opener, "Only Hope" will be a top single release with its delicate yet powerful lyrics and textured harmonies. "The High Countries" is a smooth, ear pleasing tune that addresses one's ability to handle God's calling and His glory." Mystery of Mercy" is a moving hymn-type-sound with its psalm of David type appeal to God, refined and enhanced by the piano chords. Enhancing their live music style, Caedmon's Call has added songs with more percussive and acoustic strengths. "Back Home" was the title of this band's original album release as an independent band. Consider this album a powerful reflective work and revision of the band's beginnings. Overall, a fine cd to add to one's collection. Those who enjoyed Long Line of Leavers released by this group, in year 2000, will enjoy this album as it bears similar style and sound. Group fans worried about Derek Webb's (lead singer) solo voyage need not worry about 2003's concert agenda. The entire group, including the lead man, will tour with Jars of Clay. Derek is expected to make most of these appearances! - Bridget |
