Who Are We?

Derek Webb

She Must and Shall Go Free
Derek Webb
INO Records

Derek Webb has been a lead singer for the group Caedmon's Call for about ten years. This new solo adventure for Derek offers an 11-track album full of heart and Godly-truths. He adds a new twist by turning the theme of this album toward an affection for the Church. Each and every song has strong scriptural references that add to the strength of Derek's strong written skills and God- given vocal talent.

"She Must and Shall Go Free" opens with the song "Nobody Loves Me." This song addresses the theme that His people need to do what it takes to make Him "beautiful and believable" to those who surround us. "Lover" is a narrative of the life and the death of Jesus. It also delves into Jesus' "pursuit of His church." Depth of lyrics and swaying harmonies typify this song. "Saint and Sinner" is groovy song that is rich with Derek's classic folk-rock sound. This is a song that homes in our God's glory and grace shared; yet we're never free of sin while on earth.

Each and every song on this album is powerful single pieces of the "She Must and Shall Go Free" puzzle. All together in one album, they create a novel about the Church and her individual triumphs and successes. A deep, creative, and touching album that most anyone would enjoy.
