Together the Holland brothers, Will and Josiah, and drummer Yogi generate personal songs that convey a message of hope. Songs like "Because Of You," and "Bring Back July" expose intimate feelings of being away from home and grief for a lost friend. The imagery derived from "Photographs and Tidalwaves" depicts changes in life on a grand scale. On the flip side is the calmness, as depicted by the cover art, that comes from God's love.

The trio does a fine job of creating catchy melodies and hooks that keep their brand of rock from being ordinary. Lyrically the CD is intelligent and easy to follow. Influences of producer Aaron Sprinkle can also be heard on the CD.
