House of Praise "House of Praise" is the first all new CD in nearly five years from Carman. This CD is as eclectic as Carman gets with a little bit of Caribbean, Latin, Boogie-Woogie rock and more. The overall feel of "House of Praise" is one of celebration as Carman leads a pep-rally for God. There is also a sense that the CD was recorded live, but it was not. Voices, claps, and crowd interaction were recorded separately and added to the mix. Top picks are the Kirk Franklin style title track and the Ricky Martin style of "Stand Up." Carman also includes a tribute to the old "Red, White, and Blue." This patriotic song includes drop-ins from President George W. Bush speaking on the war on terror. "House of Praise" is not the best to date from Carman but it's vintage Carman, and I for one am glad to see him back on the scene. - Ken W. |
