Flynn Flynn Adam Atkins, known simply as Flynn, is a founding member of Gotee rap group L.A. Symphony, and an occasional soloist. His latest solo effort is "In Like Flynn" (Illect Recordings). "In Like Flynn" is a collection of songs that have been birthed from challenges to Flynn's faith. Not only does the CD entail the challenges, but it's backed up by hope. A hope that Flynn draws from God's word and takes to heart. "In Like Flynn" is what I would consider to be the underground rap, and not the commercial type hip-hop that you would hear on radio. The first track "Love Is Dead" equates the absence of love, faith, and hope as death. The song emphasizes their importance. Without love, faith, and hope in God, life is pointless. "Triumph" again tackles the feeling of being down-and-out, but finding victory in Christ regardless of our circumstances. The title track, "In Like Flynn" doesn't follow the theme of challenge, but it's meant as a fun freestyle expression of the emcee. "In Like Flynn" is overall a introspective look into the challenges of Flynn, and the way he applies his faith in God. Like Abraham, if we believe with all our heart and put our faith forward, God will reward in way we will never understand. - Ken W. |
