Fernando Ortega has always been a favored vocalist with his melodious voice and inspiring lyrics. After eleven other releases though he's taking on a new direction, possibly why this album is self-titled. As Fernando approached the prospect of this release, the first under the Curb Records label, he decided to experiment. The result was an album that still focuses on Fernando's treasured vocals, but adds instrumental variety.

The newfound musical influences can best be heard in tracks like "Dragonfly," and "Noonday Devil." The more traditional Ortega can be heard in "California Town," "Sleepless Night," and the hymns "Rock Of Ages," and "More Love to Thee."

Nothing, short of turning to heavy metal could take away from the high quality of music Fernando Ortega has consistently produced. On his latest self-titled release you will still find an amazing knack for storytelling, and a harmoniously soothing voice.
