You will find that Bebo Norman sticks to what he does well on his latest CD titled “Try”. He is a storyteller who can draw you in with his simplistic acoustic artistry. The only thing different this time around was that he sought outside help with the writing. Doing so pushed him a little and helped to spark more creativity.

I love how he draws a picture in my mind with “Finding You” the first song on the CD. “Finding You” is about finding God in every little detail of life, and it describes a way of life that I long for. Interlaced between the pop friendly songs are some intimate and quiet times like “Drifting.”

Singer-songwriters don’t often get the credit they deserve, and when they do get a breakaway hit, like “Great Light of the World”, they often live in the shadow of it. If that’s the way you feel about Bebo, then you’re only looking at the surface. This generally quiet young man opens up behind his guitar, and sheds God’s light upon the listener.
