The Swift

The Swift
Today
Flicker Records

What a sweet sound it is to hear the return of the piano-driven band The Swift. Their sophomore release titled “Today” is easy on the senses, and intentional. By intentional I mean that it is ministry focused and alive with the Word.

I’m particularly drawn to the retro sound of “Revolution,” and two of the worshipful ballads “Now That You’ve Found Me,” and “I Need You.”

The Swifts retro-piano-driven sound is what sets them apart on the radio, but their focus on worship and gospel centered lyrics are what sincerely set them apart from other CCM artists. “Today” is infectious, and I’m happy The Swift didn’t give up their originality for “complete” accessibility.
