Reflection of Something
Ardent Records

Reflection of Something is Agnew’s follow up to Grace Like Rain which was hailed as “Best Worship Album of 2003” by Christianity Today. On Grace Like Rain, Agnew introduced us to his Memphis style of worship with songs like “Grace Like Rain,” and “This Fragile Breath.”

On Reflection of Something, I feel like the blues influences are more pronounced and there was no holding back on these songs. I may just be more used to his style because I’ve seen him live three times in the last nine months. It’s quite possible that I just missed this on his first album. I know that I was blown away by the violin playing during the live show and I hardly took notice of that on Grace Like Rain. Now on Reflection of Something, I’m much more aware of the presence of the violin. My favorite tracks are “Unchanging One,” “Mercy In Me,” and “My Jesus.”

Besides being a great singer/songwriter, Agnew is also a gifted teacher. I’ve experienced this both in concert and during a break out session at the Power of One event. Both in song and spoken word, Agnew edifies the listener with scripture and humble confessions.
