Curt Collins Curt Collins’ top 10 hit “Backyard Hero” is really the highlight of this album. This particular song is from the perspective of a father and son, and it’s easy to assimilate yourself into the words. That’s not to say that the rest of the album is bunk by any means, it’s just that this song really connects. Even as a father of two girls, I can still imagine the thrill of the father and son bond through this song. The majority of the rest of the album crosses between country and southern gospel. Inspirational tunes like the title track, “Don’t Look Back Now,” and “Work In Progress” are equally fitting of praise too. Also, “Same Train” is a positively fun country-rock track that complements the rest of the album. Overall, Don’t Look Back Now is a well rounded country/gospel album, with a good mix of inspiration and joy. For more on Curt check out his web site at www.curtcollins.com. - Ken W. |
