World Through Your Eyes is a fresh debut album from Rocketown Records artist Reuben Morgan. At first listen, I thought that Reuben Morgan didn’t take many chances with the songs he picked as I have heard some of them before by different artists and at worship in my church. Then I to my surprise, I realized that they were actually written by Morgan and had been released by other Christian artists. This project is a culmination of songs that span over a decade. It also incorporates several recent originals as well.

Morgan has an energetic contemporary style that is bright and inspiring. Those traits have been fostered during his time as a worship leader at Hillsong church in Sydney Austraila which has a congregation of over 18,000 worshipers. He has songs on the top 25 Worship songs chart and has 17 songs on the Top 500. We are all most likely familiar with several of them such as: “My Redeemer Lives”, “Hear Our Praises”, and “I Give You My Heart.”

Reuben Morgan makes a bold move in presenting songs that are already familiar to the public as well as introducing more originals. Sometimes when a writer sings their own stuff that has been attached to the sound of others, the writer’s performance does not always measure up. That is definitely not the case here. Morgan’s renditions of “Here Our Praises” and “I Give You My Heart” are as good as any other versions out there and in my estimation, better because he is the original artist behind them.
