Go Fish Superstar is the second kids CD from the Go Fish trio known for their former acappella style pop music. Their first kids release was Splash and as it is titled – it made a huge splash in the children’s market. Not intended to be such a phenomenon but more of a side project, the success of Splash sent the trio in a new and wonderful direction. The band is busy at work with their new found gifts working on a DVD and radio show as well as the next CD. The next CD project will be less peppy than Splash and Superstar, as it will be an album of lullabies, titled Snooze. The DVD project is said to be a cross between PeeWee’s Playhouse and the Monkey’s. Go Fish founding member Jamie Statema describes their music as “unique, entertaining, and fun,” all of which I would agree with one hundred percent. Their music is highly entertaining and at the same time vertical in worship. It is perfect for toddlers and even middle-aged parents like me! Superstar features hip-doo-wop songs like “The Ten Commandment Boogie,” “SkinnaMarinkyDinkyDink,” and “Lord I Lift Your Name on High.” There is also a cool version of “Jesus Loves Me,” and “Friend of Mine.” All together there are ten tracks of fun, yet serious, worship songs for all ages. Go Fish products will now be distributed through Word Entertainment, one of the nations leading Christian entertainment companies. This distribution agreement will make the Go Fish kids line more accessible, but at the same time the trio will hold sole control of the product development. The distribution will guarantee that the group can further widen their reach and continue to produce excellent family-friendly products like Splash and Superstar. - Ken W. |
