            “Christmas Treasures” features eight award winning guitarists, performing traditional Christmas carols using primarily the McPherson® guitar.  The guitarists include Phil Keaggy, Mark Baldwin, Dave Cleveland, Bruce Gaitsch, Tom Hemby, Michael Hodge, Michael Ripoll, and Matt McPherson (the founder and designer of McPherson® Guitars).

            The song listing is an extensive representation of old time favorites and at 17 tracks long, you are sure to find many you will love.  The guitarists also add their own twist to the arrangements that give the album a more contemporary feel.  My favorites include “Little Drummer Boy,” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” and “Christmas Time Is Here.”  However, there is not a single track I would throw out of the mix.  This is a wonderful concept and I hope that they continue the tradition in the future.

            I would be remiss if I did not give some props to the McPherson® guitar itself.  The guitars are an amazing work of craftsmanship, known for the off-center sound hole and the cantilevered neck design, creating a uniquely amazing sound.  For more information on the McPherson® Guitar check out their official website at http://www.mcphersonguitars.com.
