Transistor Radio A Legacy Between Up At Night Records Grade – B
If first impressions matter in the industry, and I do believe they do, then you could not have asked for a better launch for a new label. The flagship for Up At Night Records, Transistor Radio, is tagged as alt-rock/pop with hints of pop punk. The lyrics are purposeful and very direct which just adds to the already cool soundtrack.
As for references, “The Getaway” sort of reminds me of Brave Saint Saturn, loosely, but the choruses do compare as well as the topical songs of failing yet persevering. The album subject matter is loaded with challenging themes like showing Christ like love to the lost, “The Dead Shall Hear,” and plenty of grace, “Addiction” and “Ra-Random.” The band of course has a MySpace account, and most interestingly, I have read that they pulled the band together in some way through MySpace. Check it out at http://www.myspace.com/transistorradio.
