Grey Holiday The Glorious Revolution Essential Grade - B
Grey Holiday is a new band on the Essential roster and this past September they released their label debut titled “The Glorious Revolution.” The CD is a multi-media EP that includes 6 songs, an interview with the band, and three music videos. I can’t remember that I have ever seen such a package in a CD for the general market. Typically you can find all these resources on the Internet, but Grey Holiday brings it all to you right on the CD.
Worship artist Jason Ingram produced “The Glorious Revolution.” Ingram is also credited with co-writing on all six tracks.
The lead track titled “Glorious” displays a power pop/rock sound with catching lyrics and hooks. In some ways, I would compare it to Building 429. There is nothing too particularly flashy about the music, but it is solid all through out the EP. Actually, with six strong tracks there is more bang-for-the-buck on this CD than most full-length releases.
