“Legacy… Hymns of Our Heritage” is an exclusive product that can only be found in Family Christian Bookstores. David Klinkenberg, a gifted violinist, has previously recorded such projects for the same outlet. 

The hymns are a reminder of family heritage as the title suggests.  For many, the classic hymns mean a great deal to their remembrance of both closeness to God and times of struggle throughout their lives. The emphasis on hymns in the contemporary church however is being replaced by other medians.  Occasionally (and most recently) a few artists have reminded us through new releases such as “Legacy,” that these old songs are still meaningful and as timeless as ever. 

Klinkenberg’s arrangements on “Legacy” hold tightly to the originals, but the emphasis on strings gives them an air of freshness.  He also does a fair job as a vocalist on “Be Thou Near to Me.”  The varying styles of music include classical, Celtic, and bluegrass.
