A Dream To Late Intermission to the Moon Tooth & Nail Grade – C+
A Dream To Late debuts on Tooth & Nail with their atmospheric “Intermission to the Moon.” A disc that appears to be heavily influenced by their label mates Falling Up. The soundtrack is laced with decent guitar hooks that perk up the project, however the formula is not all that different from others on the same label. Such is the case with “A Dream To Late,” and “Trend Setter,” two favored tracks on the CD. I think if you like Falling Up then you’ll like A Dream To Late as well.
One of the strong points of the album is that the writing is at least original and creative. I’m not sure what the overall concept of the album is, but there are moments where the lyrics peeked my interest.
I think given enough time I will start to pick up more of the concepts and the music will grow on me – making it an overall decent project. However, with most people you have to peek that interest right away or they will not buy the CD. Thankfully, there is always MySpace for legal sampling!
