Ever Stay Red
“On the Brink of It All”
Vertical Spin Records

Grade = B

Here’s a solid national debut from a band that has built a following through extensive touring, playing over 250 concerts per year. Ever Stays Red has had some radio success, too, with a couple of songs from its independent release “I’ll Tell the World” cracking the Radio and Records Top 20.

The opening track reminded me of Styx, in a good way. “Glorious” would make a nice single.

Lead singer Dustin Carlson says, “I wrote songs for the new album from my heart; songs about never giving up on the dreams inside you, songs about redemption, songs about daring to believe in what the world could be.”

Co-producer Ken Mary adds, “The album reflects the maturity of a band that, for the past four years, has lived and breathed to spread the eminent message of Christ through music.”

The band is high energy rock, similar to Sanctus Real and Everyday Sunday. As the band continues to grow, hopefully they’ll diversify their sound.
