Re:zound Together since 2001, this is Re:zound’s first national release. It has a nice variety of modern rock sounds, from the alt rock and monster bass of “Day That Never Ends” to overtones of Delirious? on “I Will Bow Down” while “Salvation” dives into techno. “Sanctity” is a worship and praise song with the lyric “How can my hands reach up to touch your Lord?” With its joyous chorus, “I Belong to You” should be a single. Singer Jason Anderson says, “Music is the platform, redemption through Christ is the message. If all of this helps us reach more people wit the gospel, then I’m in.” “Beautiful,” the band’s current single, is inspired by Romans 1:20. Anderson says, “God created our ability to communicate, and yet I find it hard to verbalize who He is in my life. Maybe the words are available, but I’m incapable of phrasing it into anything remotely measurable to who He is.” Lots of potential here. At times I’m reminded of the David Crowder Band (sometimes too much) and Shaun Groves. - Rob S. |
