It is interesting how both Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken have well established and successful independent careers as musicians and songwriters, but until now they have not completed an entire project together. While writing and creating great music on their own they never putting out that watermark (big pun intended) CD. A CD that would cement their independently creative minds together, leaving a favorable impression on fans of both artists.

For fans of the couples independent releases, the album fits perfectly. There is nothing too flashy as far as the production goes, but that is typical of most true singer/songwriter types. The “Ampersand EP” is an abbreviated glimpse of their united potential, classy meaningful songs, that make you think honestly and intently.
