J.R.’s newest album, Life By Stereo, is certainly worth checking out. He combines powerful lyrics with a beat that makes you want to roll down your car windows and turn up the music.

The album title is the direct opposite of the infamous heavy metal album, Death By Stereo. J.R. wants to show how with God, there is life and hope.

J.R.’s style is a refreshing change. Technically his style is considered R&B. However, a better description I heard was a mix of eclectic urban gospel, contemporary R&B, rock and pop. I really enjoy the combination of his vocal talent, uplifting beats and powerful lyrics. When I listen to his music, I feel J.R. has combined the best parts of Christian rap and worship.

I have yet to be disappointed by an album that comes from Cross Movement Records. Since this is only J.R.’s second album, I definitely look forward to his future releases.
