One of today's hottest and heaviest Christian hard rock bands Red, is re-releasing their Essential debut “End of Silence,” with a few added features. The deluxe set includes a DVD with a seven song concert video, a behind the scenes documentary, photo montage, and the original video for “Breathe Into Me.” Additionally, there is a bonus song, “Lost” (Acoustic Version) on the audio portion of the CD.

I am a fan of the Red and I found that the DVD alone was worth the purchase. They easily could have just released the DVD for the same price and it still would have been a good deal. I was a bit surprised they released the DVD, with the industry turning more towards the Internet as a prefered delivery method. Personally, I am still partial to material CD's and DVD's and less for the techno-dependencies for my entertainment.

Right now Red is riding high on the Dove and Grammy nominations and hopefully the rerelease is not holding up a new project. The official web site <http://www.redmusiconline.com/palebird/index.html> states that they have been recording, but no release date has been set. Tour dates are also online.
