How Great Thou Art “How Great Thou Art” is a collection of twelve gospel songs recorded at the legendary Grand Ole Opryin Nashville, TN. The various recordings were all captured live and they feature a range of country music legends and relative new comers. In my opinion there is no greater musical collaboration than country and western and gospel. “How Great Thou Art” is inspiring on multiple levels. As far as the artist showing up on the project some highlights include a Charlie Daniels Band/Mac Powell duet, the legendary Ronnie Milsap and Loretta Lynn, and the more contemporary Trace Adkins and Carrie Underwood. Favorites in the song selection include “I’ll Fly Away,” “Family Bible,” and “How Great Thou Art.” The overall combination of time honored gospel songs and the classic country and western style creates a moving experience that has been both nostalgic and emotional. Most importantly, it has given me another platform to reflect on and worship a great God. - Ken W. |
