The Veggie Tales Lord of Beans Big Idea Lord of the Beans is the 27th episode featuring the all-star cast of veggies that many have grown to love. The major lesson of this episode is the use of spiritual gifts, follow Junior Asparagus as he and his friends trek across many foreign lands looking for an answer. For me, Lord of the Beans is the greatest episode Big Idea has ever made. It is nearly a full-feature movie, at 50 plus minutes, and a full cast of elves, flobbits, and all sorts of other supporting characters. This episode also boasts the full return of Phil Vischer, co-founder and voice of Bob the Tomato, and writer for this episode. Lord of the Beans was directed by long-time partner and co-creator, Mike Nawrocki. Drawing from the hugely favored Lord of the Rings story, the Lord of the Bean could have easily been developed into a longer series. Vischer and Nawrocki have done an excellent job at furthering the series with the best episode to date. - Ken W. T Lord of the Beans follows the fantastic journey of a Flobbit named Toto Baggypants (Junior Asparagus) who inherits a most unusual and powerful bean. With the help of his mentor Randalf and a spirited group of friends, Toto embarks on a mission to discover the purpose for which his gift should be used. On their quest, the group encounters many challenges, including crossing the mountains of Much-Snowia and facing the dreaded Lord Scaryman – who seeks the bean for misguided, selfish reasons. Will Toto discover the purpose of his gift, or will the scary dude and his Spork army capture the bean and wield its awesome powers? Find out in Lord of the Beans. The DVD holds many extras that further make this a more than worthy project. Extras include a video for Wynonna Judd’s theme song, “It’s All About Love,” commentary by Larry the Cucumber, Jimm Gourd, and Pa Grape, and lots of other fun features.
